LEKOV CUP IS ORGANIZED BY Games 2018

• The Games 2018 Association, the hockey tournament organizer, focuses on overall preparation of young hockey players and arranges for contact between domestic youth teams with other teams internationally.

• Children's sports activity is a very important educational activity which is commonly engaged in by coaches, team managers and parents. It should be presided over by an accomplished personality to whom sports offered first of all a beautiful childhood full of friends, fun and intensive experience. Sports play an important role within after-school youth realization, when children have the chance to experience firsthand the sweet taste of victory and the agony of defeat, learn independence, responsibility, self-discipline, and respect for themselves and others. Children's sports are among the basic activities of leisure which helps to prevent the manifestation of negative social behaviour.

• Overall hockey preparation of youth under the heading Games 2018 does not include only special training on ice under the guidance of experienced hockey coaches but also professional guidance in a “dry run” preparation, aimed first of all at healthy all-round corporeal growth of the child and as compensation for one-sided physical load. Within preparation for Games 2018, the youngest hockey players have a physiotherapist available to them and are under regular medical supervision. A sport psychologist is also an integral part of the overall care program.

• The next mission of the Games 2018 Lekov Cup Association is to give an opportunity to the youngest hockey players to compare their own “muscle” with those of other hockey players of the same age in other hockey-playing countries. In today’s constantly more open world, contacts with international teams are an important part not only for sports but for social growth of children. The aim of the Games 2018 Association is to offer the Czech youth hockey a comparison with international competition, enable the youngsters to make friends abroad and last but not least, give the domestic teams an opening to participate in foreign tournaments. The Games 2018 Association believes that international competition will contribute to the increased level of Czech youth hockey and will, at the same time, raise the social level of its individual players.
